It is rediculous. But if you are a gay couple and want a cake for your wedding, but as a baker, that bothers your religious principles tough luck, you will be sued you must conduct the business. However, they have exemption clauses in thier demands because they dont have to do the same as they require of you.

The Cancel Culture Is Alive And Well
by minimus inif you don’t support certain ideas or beliefs, you may find yourself on the losing end in business, money matters, and community.
curt schilling, a former red sox player who is conservative today reported how his insurance company suddenly dropped him even though he was an excellent consumer with them because of his “ views”.
he was marked by those in charge and evidently was told by the rep he knew that they didn’t like his political views.

The governing body KNEW
by FedUpJW inso i received an email from one of the used-to-be jw friends that now pretty much ignore me.
it was haranguing me about "getting right with gee-ho'-vuh", and how imperative it was to "return to the organization".
it continued on with the worn out argument that "the faithful and discreet slave know what we must do in order to be safe and to live, as gee-ho'-vuh brightens the light to them.

So, just so it's clear, the upper photo is of the Capitol building and the second photo is the "White House" where the President of the USA lives and looks similar to Watchtower cartoon photo.

I think they have been in Covid lock down or locked up too long. I haven't been on this site for awhile and am currently reminded how petty the JW leadership mentality is.

Having a parent die and then observe the genuine christian love of siblings demonstrated while they stab you in the back and lie about you while they are grabbing money, bank accounts, etc. is not fun.

Jehovah numbers the sand of the seas. He is such a mathematician, sand, stars, hair on your head, etc. He just doesn't balance the Societies checkbook very well.

For those that feel like Conservatives or Liberals have either blown handling of COVID 19 or they feel they personally are Gods representative conscience on the matter...:
There are between 210,000 to 448,000 preventable deaths due to medical errors in Hospitals each year in the U.S.
435,000 people that die from using tobacco per year in the U.S.
112,000 people per year die due to obesity in the U.S.
85,000 per year die from alcohol use in the U.S.
When have you ever heard of any of these deaths reported on an hourly and daily basis on any news channel or spend all day every day reporting on stories related to these needless deaths?
How many of you have ever written authorities to stop these preventable deaths?
Name something constructive that you have personally done to eliminate any of the above needless deaths?
How about all the people that die in motorcycle accidents, skiing, NASCAR races, in automobiles. People die every day and living forever IS just a dream.
The medical field is doing a lot better with effective treating covid cases and the death rate has dropped considerably.

Trade union membership
by Panka inhi, i am currently supporting a jw colleague with some work problems and have advised them to join our trade union for official support.
am i right that jehovah 's witnesses can't vote or contribute to political funds, but they can join trade unions?
thanking anyone who can help me understand.

Pontoon, I agree. I never have understood why JWs will seek an opinion from WT on so many aspects of their personal life.

This is just another example of WT trying to impose their opinion on people that really irritates me. The fact that JWs would even be concerned about what WT thinks is disappointing.
The mere involvement of Watchtower Corporation in trying to influence or force their members either in or out of a Union is disgusting. It is none of their business.
A heavy hand against a JW union member, possible shunning, or marking one who votes for their preference in leadership or wanting better wages? Disgusting. WT can get involved in politics, joining the United Nations as an NGO, attending local city council meetings, having their many lawyers writing letters and filing suit for changing zoning laws so they can build their real estate empire with volunteer labor when it is in their best interest.
WT has also used, gamed, and manipulated the system to not pay social security, or provide health treatment, or workers compensation, for their volunteers. They will work quality people in the prime of their life then when they get sick, are injured, or are old at 55 years of age WT dumps them on the street.

Do You Ever Wonder Where Are They Now?
by minimus ini remember so many witnesses who were pretty liberal minded.
i knew some that were the ones someone would talk to to get a “balanced “ perspective.
they were not hardliners.

I think WT has run off all the sincere, empathetic, reasonable, loving, and thinking persons.

I'm in a union and it has been a great move. My Dad (elder) was a contractor and worked Union men, which most were JW's in good standing. I've talked with some brothers in Unions, and they seldom went to a meeting (Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and prayer.)
One brother would not sign the paperwork for the Political Action Committee of the Union to take out 3-5 cents (not percent, a nicklel) per hour. I did and didn't think twice, but I wouldn't talk about it because it's no one's business.
Picket lines and strikes are very rare as unions have lost their edge to negotiate. I was asked a few times to distribute flyers for the union because a foreign company was opening an automobile assembly plant and the State Senator didn't want it to go union. The company was from Germany and they actually wanted Union representation as they were familiar with it in their homeland and a few years later, it was unionized. Unions serve their purpose in that they collectively bargain for all members, organize health insurance for their members which the employer will pay, have pension and retirement funds also paid by the employer. The insurance is good and you can work with many companies and your insurance is the same. The union contract that is negotiated with different companies is basic, besides wages, times you get over time, holidays, etc, they have apprenticeship programs, and offer certification and other training.
